The Central European Programming Contest is one of the eighty-two regional programming contests to select the teams that will represent our region in the finals of the 27th ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. The ACM contest is a programming world championship for college students. Started in 1970 as a local contest in Texas the contest is spanning the whole world now.

The Central European Programming Contest was organized by the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of Warsaw University and took place on November 15-17, 2002. More than 50 teams from seven countries (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland) participated in the competition.
